The lawsuit is being brought forward by the lawfirm, Pomerrantz LLP. The firm is reportedly bringing together several potential investors of the video game company in order to bring forth a case against it. There has been no official word as to the details of the lawsuit, but word on the wire has pointed to several factors. Chief among which being expanding its buyouts of employees, executives leaving en masse, and allegations of racist abuse of one employee who was working at the company at one point. It should also be noted that the investigation could dive into the appointment of Activision Blizzard’s new chief financial officer, Dennis Durkin, and his US$15 million (~RM61.45 million) signing bonus. On a relative note, the lawsuit does reference the company’s split with Bungie, but besides the mention, it doesn’t seem as though the incident is remotely related to the lawsuit. Besides being responsible for publishing Bungie’s Destiny IP, Activision Blizzard is also responsible for the release of many other video game titles, include the Call of Duty franchise, as well as World of Warcraft and Overwatch through Blizzard Entertainment.
