The image posted by HXL shows some performance details on the CPU-Z software monitoring tool. The labels are Chinese, but for those of you who can’t read the language’s character, the top half basically shows both the single-threaded and multi-threaded performance of the CPU.
— HXL (@9550pro) October 1, 2020 Specifically, the blue bars and numbers within it belong to the Ryzen 9 5900X, while the purple bars belong to a CPU chosen by HXL for comparison, mostly likely from the database of CPU-Z. In this case, the CPU he has chosen to compare it to is the Ryzen 7 3700X, which has 8-cores, 16-threads, and a base and boost clock of 3.6GHz and 4.4GHz, respectively. If you pay close attention to the second box in program, you’ll see the greyed out box that has the number “24” in it; this is quite likely the CPU’s thread count, meaning that the 5900X is going to be a 12-core CPU. Much like AMD’s current Zen 2 Ryzen 9 3900X CPU.
That said and as it is with all rumours and leaks, the standard rules for salt consumption and scepticism applies.
