According to the notice on Apple’s support site, the receiver on the affected units would not emit a sound when users make or receive calls. The company pinpoints the cause of this issue to an unnamed component on the receiver module. The company also revealed that the affected units were produced between October 2020 to April 2021. As mentioned earlier, Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) across the world including Malaysia would repair this issue for free. That being said, Apple has noted that users must first resolve any damages that could hinder the repair job which could come at an extra cost.
