In fact, the South Korean giant still promotes the feature on its current Galaxy smartphone series, but instead of using a dock, the later generation Galaxy S and Note series can simply be connected directly to a monitor to function. In the case of Apple, Mauri says that the project is sort of ready and that Apple is constantly working on prototypes on the side and waiting for “other projects to fall into place”. Mauri also reiterates that the feature is “95% sure coming, but not 100%” yet, as it stil still depends on a lot of factors. As rumours typically go, it’s best to take this particular gossip point with a liberal dose of skepticism, especially since Apple still has yet to give the world an update on the subject. Further, it’s unclear how the fruit company would announce such a feature, especially since doing so would mean the iPhone would be encroaching into the brand’s desktop territory.
