In terms of performance, the KX-6600 series CPUs are reportedly able to go toe-to-toe with Intel’s 7th generation Core i5-7400 CPU, albeit at a lower boost clock of 3GHz. Additionally, the KX-6600 processors require double the amount of cores, making it an octa-core CPU versus the Core i5-7400’s quad-core configuration. As unimpressive as this may sound to the majority of us, Zhaoxin’s processors are something of an achievement for the company. It’s a sign that the company is eager to compete not just within their domestic market, but also on the international playing field. Along with major and international companies like Intel, AMD, and IBM.
Zhaoxin has also reportedly put the KX-6000 series into production too, with benchmarks numbers having already popped up on GeekBench, and in a couple of notebooks. The company is also thinking ahead with its own plans to launch its own server-grade CPUs.
