As it turns out, you don’t have to worry anymore. D-Link Malaysia together with TM and Time Internet have individually responded to our queries and collectively stated that the DIR-850L routers that were deployed in our market are not affected by the security issue. This is due to the fact that the routers that TM and Time Internet are revision B units while the security vulnerability that was discovered earlier this year only affects revision A units. Users are able to identify the specific hardware revision of their DIR-850L through the label at the bottom of the router.

Here are the statements from TM and Time Internet regarding the issue:   Rest assured that the security and privacy of our customers are of utmost importance to us and we will keep our customers posted should there be any need to update the security patches for the router. For any enquiries, customers can reach out to us via Live Chat at care@unifi app or unifi.com.my/chat, tweet us @helpmeunifi or message us at facebook.com/weareunifi. Now that this issue has been clarified by all three parties, owners of DIR-850L routers that were supplied by TM and Time Internet can now rest easy. For those who somehow using revision A of the router, you might want to get in touch with D-Link Malaysia right away.
