Through the new deal, Digi would be able to tap on Allo’s Level 2 High Speed Broadband Network Service and expand its home fibre service to more customers in selected areas within Melaka, Perak, and Cyberjaya. While the telco didn’t provide in-depth details regarding the expansion, Digi did say that the expansion would involve around 45,000 homepasses.
Since Digi is more known as a mobile telco, its home fibre ambition might not seem obvious but the company aims to connect more than 3.5 million households in the country through its service. Alongside Allo, the telco has also partnered with TM, Time, and Celcom Timur to help achieve its target. At the moment, Digi home fibre service which is also known as Digi Internet Freedom can be obtained for RM 130 per month with a download speed of 100Mbps. There is also the 500Mbps plan that costs RM 190 per month while the 1Gbps plan is priced at RM 290.
