According to the new agreement, EA Access, the parent company’s subscription-based service, will now be available on Steam. To kick things off, EA is allowing gamers on Steam to pre-order Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. A title that will be hitting store shelves on 15 November. Following up to that, Steam users who subscribe to EA Access will also be able to play other EA titles such as The Sims 4, Apex Legends and Battlefield V over the coming months. One point to this partnership that isn’t clear is whether or not EA Access on Steam will be independent of Origin or if loading up a game on Valve’s platform will automatically redirect them to EA’s own digital platform. To be frank, it wouldn’t surprise us if the latter were the case; Prior to shifting the availability of its future titles to Epic Games Store, Steam gamers who purchased Ubisoft title would be redirected to the latter’s own digital platform, UPlay, in order to play the publisher’s games.
