The tech site explained that Dark Mode is present in an early build for the latest version of the Facebook app on Android, which they have somehow obtained. This version will allow users to manually toggle the mode at their own leisure, and will also automatically activate if it detects that the Android 10 system-wide Dark Mode is enabled. Additionally, Facebook is looking to include two other in-app updates in the upcoming roll-out as well. One of which is a COVID-19 coronavirus tracker that will provide users with data regarding confirmed cases both locally and globally. The other update is a UI refresh of the Time on Facebook feature. For those unfamiliar with this, it is basically a digital wellbeing tracker that logs the amount of time a user is active on the social media app. The new UI introduces a grid-based view that separates the different sections available in the feature. While the screenshots above may suggest that the update will be pushed out sometime soon, its exact release date is still unknown. It is quite likely that we will hear an official announcement regarding this from Facebook themselves in the next coming days or even weeks. (Source & images: 9to5Google)
