FujiRumors reports that the video in question featured Japanese photographer Tatsuo Suzuki, whose photography style was considered by fans as unethical. Presented like short documentary, the video highlights Suzuki’s street photography approach where he is seen snapping supposedly candid photos of pedestrians in Tokyo. We say “supposedly” because his method involves blatantly pointing the camera towards unsuspecting individuals up close, and even stepping into their way in order to snap a photo. Many found Suzuki’s approach to be creepy and intrusive, especially when photos of the individuals are taken without their consent. While the video itself is no longer available on the Fujifilm X Series’ channel, a duplicate of the video has been re-uploaded to Youtube. His photography work mainly involves shooting in richly toned black and white, and he’s a frequent user of the Fujifilm X100 camera series. Recognising his work, Fujifilm has included Suzuki as one of its X-Photographers – individuals who use the brand’s X-series in their professional work. These X-Photographers are often featured in the company’s marketing campaigns, with the X100V being the latest product to be promoted. Just to keep you up to speed, the recently launched Fujifilm X100V features a 23mm F2 fixed lens and a 2-way tilting rear LCD screen. The APS-C camera is equipped with a 26.1MP back illuminated X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor which is powered by a new generation X-Processor 4. The X100V is priced at US$1,400 (~RM5,770) and is slated to ship in late February 2020. Plans for a Malaysian release has not been confirmed by Fujifilm at this time.
