The policy is being extended to select future Galaxy A series of devices as well.
Aside from Samsung, there are already several other companies that guaranteed three Android OS upgrades for their devices such as Google for the Pixel series and Microsoft for its upcoming Surface Duo. Apple is also known for providing iOS upgrades to old iPhones, with the recent example being the original iPhone SE which is still able to support iOS 14 even though the model was released in 2016. All in all, it is great to see smartphone makers willing to provide long-term updates for their products. We certainly hope more companies will adopt this policy too, so that consumers could have peace of mind using their devices even years down the road.
