In order to display the hashflag, all users need to do is to include any of these four hashtags including #MalaysiaPrihatin, #MalaysiaMerdeka, #MenangBersama, and #HariMalaysia in their tweets. A special emoji that was adapted from the 2020/2021 Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day logo will then appear next to these hashtags.

Originally revealed back in July 2020, the logo and theme revolved around Malaysia’s fight against COVID-19. The government has decided to retain them for this year’s celebration as the country continues its struggle to overcome the pandemic. Meanwhile, Twitter hashflags don’t last forever though.
