GamesBeat reports that Kojima has signed a letter of intent with Microsoft for a new Xbox game. This may mean a new title that’s like the Xbox version of Death Stranding. To put it in another way, it will be on the Xbox console as well as PC, but not PlayStation.

The GamesBeat report also states that Microsoft explicitly hired former Google Stadia dev Kim Swift to assist in making Kojima’s cloud game a reality. It’s unclear if this is referencing the current Death Stranding, which already has asymmetric multiplayer elements, or the new game that both parties will be working on. Though all things considered, this is still “just” a letter of intent. It’s another way of saying that it’s in an early enough stage that discussions can go wrong and the whole thing scrapped. Though considering the extent in which Microsoft is invested, that may prove unlikely. And while the new game will likely be an exclusive, there’s still every chance that it will end up being available on more platforms. It will also not prevent Kojima Productions from working with other publishers. (Source: GamesBeat)
