According to DxOMark, the Honor 30 Pro Plus packs a powerful camera setup with good exposure across various light levels and features an impressively wide dynamic range. They added that the photos display a good balance between texture and noise balance in most conditions, provide low noise levels in ultra-wide shots, and good depth estimation for bokeh shots, among other things. Video-wise, the smartphone displays good colour output with accurate white balance, along with impressive details and textures. The website also praises its stabilisation during video shoots, as well as its fast and accurate autofocus in both video and photography modes. However, not all of the smartphone’s camera performance aced DxOMark’s collection of tests. They noted that the camera’s photos and videos may appear desaturated in low light conditions, and would also display harsh aliasing for indoor and outdoor shots. Medium-range zoomed images exhibit loss of sharpness, and night shots will occasionally feature chroma noise. The Honor 30 Pro Series launched in China on 15 April 2020, and is priced from CNY3,999 (~RM2,457) for the standard variant, while the Plus version starts from CNY4,999 (~RM3,072).
