The rumour originated from Russian site Rozetked and was picked up by other news portals, right before it was pulled down. For the uninitiated, the last HTC Wildfire smartphone launched back in 2011, and was known as the Wildfire S. Fast forward to today, and it appears that HTC is planning on launching not one, but four Wildfire variants. These models are the Wildfire, Wildfire E, Wildfire E Plus, and Wildfire E1. All of the units appear to be powered by a MediaTek SoC of sorts. Of the four, the Wildfire appears to the flagship of the group; it will apparently sport a Helio P23 SoC, 3GB RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. It also has a 3500mAh battery, a 6.2-inch HD+ notched display. Camera-wise, the notch houses a 16MP, while around the back, the phone sports a dual 16MP+5MP main camera setup.
The Wildfire E will sport a 5.45-inch HD+ display as well, but doesn’t seem to have a notch. Instead, the phone simply reverts back to the old design of a top and bottom bezel. Specs-wise, the phone surprisingly uses a Unisoc SC9863 SoC, has 2GB RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. On the subject of its cameras, the phone also sports a dual 13MP+2MP main camera, while the front-facing camera is a mere 5MP sensor. Moving down the list, the Wildfire E Plus is the plus-sized version of the Wildfire E; it features a 5.99-inch HD+ display, and runs on a MediaTek Helio A22 SoC. Besides that, everything other specification seems unchanged, and that includes the same camera setup, memory, and storage capacity.
Last on the list is the Wildfire E1. It uses the same Helio A22 as the Wildfire E Plus, has 3GB RAM, and the same 32GB of storage as the other models. Display-wise, its sports a 6.1-inch HD+ notched display, with the notch housing an 8MP front-facing camera. It’s also the only Wildfire variant that doesn’t have a dual main camera setup; it only houses one 8MP sensor.
