Reuters lists down Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo as the companies behind GDSA. However, some parts of the report have been refuted by Xiaomi.

For example, Xiaomi’s spokesman stated that GDSA is meant to help developers upload their apps to its store as well as OPPO, and Vivo own app store simultaneously. This is something that has also been stated on GDSA’s official website.

The company further insists that GDSA is not going against Google Play and also denied that Huawei is joining the alliance. Meanwhile, GDSA’s website stated that the platform covers nine countries and regions including India, Indonesia, Russia, and surprisingly, Malaysia.

Regardless of GDSA’s true intentions, it is quite clear that the ramifications from the United States sanctions on Huawei goes beyond its intended target. All in all, that one particular decision has pretty much changed the industry as we know it. (Source: Reuters.)
