It’s called Attention Correction, and it makes use of advanced image manipulation to push your gaze a little higher. This will also cause the warping of any object that comes in between your eyes and the front-facing camera, as demonstrated below.

With this, FaceTime calls will feel a little more natural, with the adjusted gaze making you look like you’re maintaining eye contact with the person on the other end.

That said, Engadget reports that it is only available on the iPhone XS and XS Max for now, while some Reddit users said it works with the iPhone XR and the iPad Pro as well. iOS 13 will leave the beta stage sometime in fall.
