Kicking things off, first we have the new iOS 16.0.3 update – arriving at more or less 1GB in size, depending on the model that you own. Apple says the patch includes fixes for issues mainly involving the iPhone 14 series; including delayed incoming call and app notifications on the Pro and Pro Max models, low microphone volume during CarPlay phone calls across all of the line-up’s variants, and a bug where the Camera app is slow to launch or switch between modes.
On the security side of things, iOS 16.0.3 also comes with a fix for a Mail app bug present on iPhone 8 and later, which causes it to crash after receiving a malformed email. According to the release notes, Apple says this has been rectified by improving the app’s input validation. Next up is watchOS 9.0.2, which is available for Apple Watch Series 4 and later. The company notes that this update addresses interruptions to streaming audio on Spotify across all models, as well as microphone audio interruptions on the Series 8 and Ultra. Additionally, a bug causing the snooze alarm notifications to continue after the alarm had been deleted for AssistiveTouch users has also been fixed, and an issue which causes Wallet and Fitness apps to not sync properly on newly paired Apple Watches has been rectified as well. Both the iOS 16.0.3 and watchOS 9.0.2 updates are now readily available for download. Should your device not receive either of these patches automatically, you can opt to manually download them instead. To get either updates, simply navigate to General and then Software Update under your iPhone’s Settings app. Also, keep in mind that your Apple Watch needs to have at least 50% battery and be placed on a charger in order to install the new firmware.
