These details came from a new research note by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to MacRumors, the iPhone SE Plus is expected to have either a 5.5.-inch or 6.1-inch full-screen display. This is similar to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. But unlike those two devices, the SE Plus will reportedly feature Touch ID via a side-mounted power button. If this is true, then it would be the first for an iPhone to have a side mounted fingerprint sensor. This is usually a design choice that’s more commonly seen on Android devices. Specifically, it was the norm for older Sony Xperia devices, and more recently, HONOR devices.
While not definitive, it’s probably safe to expect that the iPhone SE Plus will have a lower price point than other iPhones. After all, it’s one of the most defining features of the SE line. That said, the larger size and the side-mounted Touch ID sensor will probably mean it will be priced higher than the current SE. But we won’t know for sure if these are accurate until Apple makes an official announcement. And it looks like quite a long wait, with the announcement delayed to the second half of next year.
