According to the reliable leakster, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature an almost similar camera configuration as this year’s top-of-the-line flagship model, but with some significantly upgraded elements. While earlier rumours have suggested that the phone will likely feature Samsung’s new 200MP camera sensor, Ice Universe refutes this. He says that the Ultra will retain using a 108 MP sensor with 0.8 µm pixels as its main camera, although it is not specified if it is using the same HM3 sensor or a newer version. There’s also mention of an improved image stabilisation technology featured together with the sensor, which could be related to another rumour that we’ve reported back in April. According to various sources, Samsung has allegedly partnered with Japanese camera manufacturer Olympus to develop a new sensor-shift stabilisation tech, but it remains to be seen if this would be the same system that will be featured on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Meanwhile, Ice Universe claims that both telephoto lenses on the device will use two 12MP sensors with 1.22 µm pixels with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). One of which is able to optically zoom in at 3x, while the other lens can zoom up to 10x. But interestingly, the leakster says that both telephoto lenses will come with a new continuous zoom technology, which enables them to seamlessly transition between different focal lengths – similar to the system that was previously showcased by OPPO last month (shown below).

Other than that, it is suggested that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be equipped with a 12MP sensor for its ultra wide-angle camera, but now with OIS capability as well. For its front-facing camera, on the other hand, Ice Universe says that the phone will feature a 40MP sensor housed within a punch-hole cutout. The leakster has been mostly accurate when it comes to details regarding Samsung-related products, but there’s still a chance of errors when it comes to unofficial information. We’ll only know for certain whether these rumours are accurate once the brand officially announces the smartphone, which is expected to be sometime in January next year. (Source: GSMArena)
