The key tech behind the LG OLED.EX is what the company calls its Cinematic Sound OLED (CSO) tech. What this does is that it vibrates the screen itself, turning the entire OLED panel into a speaker. If this sounds familiar, this is because Sony did something similar with its Bravia A1 TV all the way back in 2017, though with this one the tech is known as Acoustic Surface. Going back to the LG OLED.EX, one thing that sets it apart from its five-year old competition is its sheer size. The largest option comes in at 97 inches, which the company claims is “the biggest OLED TV panel ever made”. Fortunately, it’s not the only size option that the company has introduced, but the alternatives are less than half the size in comparison. These other options are 42- and 48-inch options, which the company calls “panels for gaming”, though it’s not clear as to why these two smaller OLED.EX models deserve such a specific distinction. As impressive as these are, LG did not provide pricing and availability details, let alone ones specific to the Malaysian market. Considering the sheer scale of the screen though, one could imagine it doesn’t come cheap, to say the least. For comparison’s sake, fellow South Korean display maker Samsung announced its 110-inch MicroLED TV last year, with a launch price of RM599,999. Even the slightly smaller-sized 99-inch option comes in at RM519,999.
