As per the official statement, the Dimensity 1000+ comes with new features, along with enhancements to currently existing features. On paper, the chipset’s 5G support now includes Carrier Aggregation, support for dual 5G SIM cards, the brand’s own 5G UltraSave power-saving technology, and claims of superfast 5G speeds, although it doesn’t say which bandwidth on the 5G spectrum it supports. Moving on, the Dimensity 1000+ will also support displays with refresh rates of up to 144Hz. While that may seem considerably high, it should be noted that these sort of numbers are slowly becoming the norm. Case in point, the OnePlus 8 Pro’s display has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, while the Nubia Red Magic 5G’s display already runs at 144Hz by default. Additionally, MediaTek also added in several new features to the Dimensity 1000+’s HyperEngine 2.0, all of which sound to be angled towards providing the phone that uses the chip with a more “fluid and immersive” gaming experience. Specifically, the additions include a new Resource Management Engine, an upgraded Networking Engine, and a Rapid Response Engine. The latter supposedly creating a lag-free gaming experience. Lastly, the Dimensity 1000+ also incorporates its parent company’s latest MiraVision technologies for improved per-frame picture quality. At the time of writing, MediaTek did not specify an exact availability date for the Dimensity 1000+, but did say that the multiple devices using its new flagship SoC will be available in the market soon.
