The new SoC support 2CC carrier aggregation which allows for a wider coverage, and is designed to function with both SA and NSA sub-6Ghz networks, provide 2G to 5G multi-mode support, and Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS). The chipset is also compatible with services such as VoNR to deliver voice and data over 5G networks. The Dimensity 800 SoC’s CPU features four Cortex-A76 cores and four Cortex-A55 units, all clocking at 2Ghz. Graphics-wise, it features ARM Mali-G57MP4 GPU combined with Mediatek’s HyperEngine technology that provides a sufficient boost to the hardware during gaming. As for camera support, the new SoC supports up to 64MP sensors or 32MP+16MP dual cameras. Other camera features supported by the chipset include AI-autofocus, auto exposure, auto white balance, noise reduction, and HDR. According to MediaTek, smartphones equipped with the new chipset will be available in the market before the end of the first half of 2020.
