The idea is simple: those who have tested positive for the virus but are deemed low-risk and prefer not to undergo the mandatory 10-day isolation period at home or at a government facility like MAEPS can make arrangements through the portal to be quarantined at any of the participating hotels instead. Of course, the eligibility of individuals requesting quarantine at these hotels will be subject to verification by MyEG with health authorities. And the usual SOPs (standard operating procedures) would apply and will be strictly followed, with government personnel stationed at all the approved hotels to ensure full compliance. MyEG mentioned The Saujana Hotel and Silka Cheras as the “first few hotels” currently available on the SafeQ portal, but said more hotel options would be progressively added in the coming days. Prices start from RM70 per pax for twin sharing at Silka and RM350 per night for a spacious suite at Saujana. The rates are inclusive of 3 meals daily provided by the hotel. There are also (or will be) numerous options for patients who prefer more luxurious accommodations at participating upscale hotels. You can check out SafeQ for yourself.
