The card is one of three cards that makes up NVIDIA’s Ampere-powered lineup: the GeForce RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090. Both the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 are already set up for availability on 17 September and 24 September, respectively. Like its more powerful siblings, not a whole lot specifics is known about the RTX 3070, yet. What we do know, though, is that the card will ship out with 8GB GDDR6 graphics memory, along with 20 Shader-TFLOPS, 40 RT-TFLOPS, 163 Tensor-TFLOPS. Plus, enough horsepower that allegedly makes it faster than NVIDIA’s last-generation top-tier GeForce RTX 20 Series card, the RTX 2080 Ti.

Unlike its Geforce RTX 30 series brethren, the RTX 3070’s cooler shroud doesn’t utilise the same radical push-and-pull fan design and instead employs the traditional dual blower-style design, with both fans at the front. Oh, and the Founders Edition will also feature NVIDIA’s new 12-pin PCIe connector in order to run, to which an adapter will be provided with the card when it ships out. Again, AiB partner cards won’t ship out with the new 12-pin PCIe port, and will continue to use the current 8-pin PCIe ports in order to deliver power to the card. (Source: NVIDIA)
