News of such a GPU was first broken by prominent leakster kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi), who reportedly “confirmed” that NVIDIA was indeed tinkering with a GeForce RTX 40 series card with a 900 TDP and 48GB of GDDR6X memory running at 24Gbps, Additionally, the card unsurprisingly requires not one, but two of the new 16-pin Microfit MOLEX PCIe connectors to run. It’s actually this kind of news that makes one think that NVIDIA is planning the revival and return of its TITAN series.

— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) April 27, 2022 Besides the 900W GPU, kopite7kimi also posted in another tweet that they had also gotten confirmation for the specifications of the other RTX 40 series cards, namely the alleged RTX 4080 and RTX 4070. For the RTX 4080, NVIDIA will supposedly increase the graphic memory capacity to 16GB, up from 4GB or 6GB, depending on which RTX 3080 model you’re matching it with. While the RTX 4070 series will seemingly ship out with 12GB GDDR6X, up from 8GB in the current RTX 3070 series.

— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) April 11, 2022 As to when or if NVIDIA plans to launch the 48GB, 900W behemoth of a graphics card is anybody’s guess. For that matter, NVIDIA is expected to announce the successor to its Ampere architecture later this year, so we’ll just have to wait until then. (Source: Videocardz, Twitter)
