The design language of the foldable prototype looks very similar to the Huawei Mate X. The prototype has a wraparound exterior display with verticle bar on the side for cameras, buttons, and ports. No official specifications were shared on the post.

Brian Shen, however, replied to some of the comments, giving us a little more information on the prototype. He said that the device is developed in-house and not based on a reference design from any OEM manufacturers. He added that Oppo was initially supposed to unveil the prototype during MWC, but decided otherwise. Shen also added his own opinion regarding the foldable phone. He said it only enlarges the screen and is foldable but does not add much value to the user experience. Shen ended his comment by saying, depending on how many shares his post gets, his team may consider bringing the phone to the masses. Looks like the question of whether or not Oppo will release their foldable phone is well and truly down to Brian Shen’s Weibo followers. (Source: Engadget, Brian Shen)
