Though the statement provided as part of the announcement is pretty vague. The company says that the expansion “will immerse guests into the world of Pokemon with innovative technology and creativity beginning in 2022”. But what exactly will the theme park have was not mentioned. There’s also no mention of when construction of the Pokemon expansion in USJ started. So it’s equally up in the air if what visitors see in 2022 is the full scale of the expansion, or if there will be more coming....

Just earlier today, Samsung revealed that the new devices which are going to be launched on 9 February are the first batch of Galaxy products that contained repurposed plastics. Specifically, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is banning the recalled MacBook Pros from being taken onboard airplanes. An FAA spokesperson said that this is not something that’s out of the ordinary, and that any device with a recalled lithium-ion battery is not allowed on airplanes. The FAA also issued a statement to The Verge, which reads: Of course, it remains to be seen if this is actually enforceable. After all, not all 15-inch MacBook Pros of 2015 are actually affected....

The document in question details the expansion of what’s called the Clean Network initiative, adding five new lines of effort. One of them is called Clean Apps, which reads ” To prevent untrusted PRC smartphone manufacturers from pre-installing – or otherwise making available for download – trusted apps on their apps store”. On one hand, the statement only overtly names Huawei as being affiliated to China. But on the other, other parts of the statement makes broad strokes references to almost anything made in the country....

With the new bill, companies wishing to be listed on the US stock exchange will have to provide proof that it is free from control and not under the influence of a foreign government. Should the company be unable to prove itself, the alternative will be to allow a US Oversight board to audit the company’s accounts for the past three consecutive years. If this ends up in failure as well, the company will then be banned from the exchange....

As usual, the new USB 4 Version 2.0 standard will also be backwards compatible with older USB 4 cables. Making it extra special is the fact that these older cables will also be able to benefit from the doubling of data bandwidth. As per the announcement, the new standard is “based on a new physical layer architecture, using existing 40Gbps USB Type-C passive cables and newly-defined 80Gbps USB Type-C active cables”....

The smartphone, known as the Vivo IFEA, introduces a new approach to smartphone photography and video capture with the aforementioned technology. The pop-up module is capsule-sized and consists of two unspecified cameras in the render, but featuring a single lens when showcased in their proof-of-concept (POC) video. Being able to function remotely while detached, it’s expected that the module includes its own battery that is chargeable when attached to IFEA....

Battery-wise, it has a capacity of 4500mAh which supports 18W fast charging via USB-C port. On its back, the Vivo S1 Pro features a diamond-shaped camera island that houses a quad-camera setup consisting of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor....

The vivo Y21T sports a notched 6.51-inchh LCD display with 1600 x 720 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate, and features a plastic body that is available in Midnight Blue or Pearl White. Also onboard is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a SIM card tray that supports dual nano SIMs and one micro SD card, up to 4G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, Android 11 via vivo’s Funtouch OS 12 interface, and a USB-C port for data transfer and charging....

Specifically, Microsoft says the new update may be an issue when you try connecting a Bluetooth speaker to a system that has an internal speaker. The specific update in question is update 4505903 on Windows 10 version 1903. Once you’ve installed the update, there’s a chance that your Bluetooth speaker will not connect at all. And If it does, it may produce worse quality sounds than usual, or they will simply be produced by your system’s internal speaker instead....

The preview build of Defender for Mac starts off focusing on signature-based malware detection. But over time, it’s expected to be able to detect and report the existence of malware based on what they’re doing to your system, much like the way it does on Windows. It will also come with the Microsoft AutoUpdate service which ensures that the Microsoft Defender for Mac keeps itself up-to-date. The company has not announced where the Microsoft Defender will go next....

The Proton Iriz R5 also shows up in a trailer for the game featuring nine iconic cars. Among the other cars in the trailer include those that have won the World Rally Championship races of the past. One of them is the Mi Smart Sensor Set which consisted of two Mi Motion Sensors, two Mi Windows and Door sensors, a Mi Wireless Switch, and a Zigbee-based Mi Control Hub. The set basically acts as a starter smart home kit and allow users to receive alerts whenever a motion detected in their home although users can integrate plenty of other smart devices into the set. To test this, Poole disguised the Geekbench app by renaming it Fortnite. The results were surprising, to say the least when it received 30% lower single-core scores and almost 15% lower multi-core scores, which are way beyond any margin of error. To further prove the discrepancy, the developer renamed the build again to Genshin Impact, which achieved similar lowered scores. This would suggest that Xiaomi is throttling certain power-hungry apps for some reason, though the fact that benchmark apps are exempted isn’t a good look for the company’s practice, as it would mean that the scores don’t reflect real-life performance....

For those unaware, Xiaomi released the Pocophone F1 with top-of-the-line hardware at an affordable price. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, a choice between 6GB and 8GB RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. After its successful launch last year, it’s not surprising that Xiaomi would want to develop a budget version of the Pocophone F1. According to the Geekbench listing, the F1 Lite is tested running on Android 9 Pie and sdm660, which is the reference code for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset....
