Unfortunately, there’s not a whole lot of information about the Dimensity 800. Despite its announcement at a press conference in Beijing, MediaTek didn’t let on further about the rest of its specification. Instead, the semiconductor brand simply said the SoC will be demoed at CES 2020, which is just a couple weeks off. On the surface, the Dimensity 800 is expected to bump heads with Huawei’s Kirin 800 series SoC and Qualcomm’s next batch of Snapdragon 700 series chipsets....

Both the Helio G90 and G90T come with two ARM Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores. But while the cores on the G90 boasts clock speeds of up to 2GHz, the ones on the G90T go up to 2.05GHz. Both also feature ARM’s Mali G76 GPU, with clock speeds of up to 720MHz. That said, the ones on the Helio G90T have been pushed to provide 11% better performance....

The M80 5G modem is designed to support ultra-fast transmission speeds on both non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA), with a maximum downlink of 7.67Gbps and uplink rate of 3.76Gbps. In addition, MediaTek also says that the M80 offers support for a full range of radio technologies, including 3GPP Release 16 standard, 5G NR (FR1), 5G mmWave (FR2) up to 8CC, and Dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS), among other technologies. MediaTek’s M80 also integrates several of the Taiwanese chipmaker’s power-saving technologies, including its UltraSave Network Environment Detection and UltraSave OTA Content Awareness features....

According to the Redmond company’s official blog post, the DX12 API on Windows 7 will only be support with Blizzard’s MMORPG, World of Warcraft. In fact, Blizzard reportedly asked Microsoft to provide DX12 support to Windows 7 for a couple of reasons. The first was due to the significant framerate improvements the API provided to the game on Windows 10. Secondly, the majority of the MMORPG’s player base still play the game on the older OS....

To recap, Microsoft had to halt the rollout of the Windows 10 October update after its support site began receiving reports from users saying that some of their files had gone missing or were deleted after installing the update. According to John Cable, director of program management, Windows servicing and delivery, both him and his team traced the bug back to an issue called Known Folder Redirection (KFR). Basically, the update had a string of code that removed empty, duplicate folders....

This could allow hackers to access information that contains sensitive data such as passwords. The bogus Flash updater has supposedly been around since early August. And it seems to have proliferated too, with 113 instances of files with the “AdobeFlashPlayer” prefix being hosted on non-Adobe servers. Researchers of Palo Alto Networks tested the file, obtained via a spoof URL. There was initially nothing to suspect, as the Flash updater is running as expected. But soon after, web traffic shows that the Monero-mining bot has already started working....

One of them is making the interstate travel via flights. This is rather interesting because Malaysia Airlines have started flying to East Malaysia again few weeks ago while Malindo Air has also resumed its domestic flights today and AirAsia will also do the same starting from 29 April onwards. Just like Spectre and Meltdown flaw in 2018, the vulnerability was caused by a flaw within an important feature that existed in many modern processors called speculation execution. However, the vulnerability somehow doesn’t impact AMD and ARM processors for the time being. Through this vulnerability, attackers are able to extract sensitive data including browser history, website contents, passwords, and encryption keys. Alongside Intel, major tech companies such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Mozilla have begun to work on patches for their products....

Rumours of the Xperia 1 comes by way of serial leakster Evan Blass (@evleaks), who also included a high resolution render of Sony’s premium flagship. Sporting a deep, gorgeous shade of purple. The image render of the Xperia 1 does tell us a few things. Firstly, the image confirms a previous report of the flagship housing a triple-camera setup. Second, the phone’s tall display is rumoured to be a 21:9 ratio “CinemaWide” display created specifically for watching films and show in wide screen mode....

The report also pointed out that one of the models will be more affordable than the other version. Said to be priced lower than the existing model, it will function more like a 3DS than a Switch since it will be missing the vibration feature and the detachable Joy-Cons. On the flip side, nothing much is known regarding the other version which will be priced much higher than the current Switch console....
