According to CNN and, Peiter Zatko, formerly the head of security for Twitter, has made a number of claims regarding the platform’s security practices. One claim is that Twitter gave all of its engineers some form of critical access to the platform. He also claims that the company also did not have methods of tracking down anyone who went in to make changes to the platform. Making things worse is the allegation that half of the company’s servers run on outdated software which don’t support features like data encryption....

As it stands, though, Microsoft only licenses Windows 10 on ARM chips to OEMs that need to pre-install the OS on new hardware. Microsoft made the point regarding Windows 10 on ARM clear in a statement to The Verge, but did not specify if it will bend its policy to allow its OS to run on Apple’s ARM-powered Macs in the future. The Boot Camp method of running Windows 10 on a Mac system isn’t anything new, and the mode has been around for a long time....

The airborne Cadillac is described to be a single seater craft, equipped with quad-rotors and a 90kW battery. The vehicle has the makings of what many would consider as a flying car but interestingly, GM did not use the term even once during its presentation. Company design chief Mike Simco explains that the VTOL vehicle concept is “a glimpse of what autonomy and Cadillac luxury might look like in the not too distant future”....

ORIGINAL STORY (8:30 AM): After MySejahtera and MyTrace, it appears that Malaysian government has developed another mobile app to monitor the population during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and Movement Control Order (MCO). Called Gerak Malaysia, this app was developed by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for Android and iOS devices. According to its Terms and Conditions document, Gerak Malaysia is designed to help authorities keep track of the Rakyat’s movement throughout the country....

One such motherboard to be born from the new chipset is Gigabyte’s B550 AORUS Master, a motherboard that we’ll be looking at in this review. What Is It? Well, for a start, the B550 AORUS Master is Gigabyte’s latest mid-range motherboard and more specifically, it’s the brand’s top of the line B550 motherboard that’s available on the current market. More importantly, the B550 chipset is AMD’s follow-up to last generation’s B450 chipset, which is not capable of supporting the CPU makers new 3rd generation Ryzen CPU and its accompanying Zen 2 CPU architecture, at least not without the necessary BIOS update....

According to XDA, Nearby Share should already be working on Chromebooks that run the latest OS versions, but to gain access to it, you’ll need to enable a few flags. Specifically, you’ll need to activate the “Nearby Share” flag, followed by the “Share Sheet” flag. Once ticked off, the feature should pop up in the “Connected devices” section within the Settings. XDA also points out that the feature isn’t quite as optimised at the moment, but for the most part, the app does work as intended....

Specifically, both Google’s Stadia and NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW game streaming services will be accessible via Apple’s Safari web browser on the iPhone or iPad. To be fair, the concept isn’t groundbreaking and neither Google nor NVIDIA are the first to go ahead with such a service. In fact, Microsoft had planned on doing something similar with Project xCloud, but was clearly beaten to the punch by its two competitors. It should come as no surprise that Apple’s App Store guidelines on game streaming is by far one of the most stringent in the industry, while some have described them as outright draconian....

Specifically, tapping the scissor icon in the updated app’s transcription editor brings that portion of the clip into a new editing interface, where users can choose to crop, edit, or remove it from the recording. Likewise, the function also works in the opposite manner. The catch right now is that the update is officially rolling out for Pixel devices at the moment, while availability for non-Pixel devices will be confirmed at a later date....

Originally, AMP was created to allow mobile pages and articles that support the standard to load incredibly fast. It was only as recent as last year that Google said it would implement the technology into Gmail to make the messages more interactive and engaging. New functions include the ability to RSVP an event directly from the message, fill out a questionnaire, browse a store’s catalogue or reply to a comment....

At least, if your phone is a Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL. 9to5Google reports that the company is working on letting users lift the phone, and immediately either ask a question or issue a command. This gives the devices an additional way to get help from the assistant, in addition to the Active Edge. The feature will also come with a timer of sorts, so you’ll have to immediately say something if you want the Google Assistant....

According to 9to5Google, code delvers found a couple of codenames that could be a reference to said Pro variant of the Google Pixel Tablet. These codenames are “tangorpro” and “t6pro”. On their own, these code names may not mean much, but the report also notes that the base model Pixel Tablet has been referred to with similar codenames, namely “tangor” and “t6”. The report does go a little into speculation territory, claiming that the Pro variant will not have the same rear camera sensor as the base model....

According to Eurogamer, Stadia chief Phil Harrison said as much during a roundtable interview with UK games press. He reportedly replied with “I don’t know why it would be cheaper” when asked. He also said that the price of the service is justified, as being able to play games on any screen “is going to be valuable to players.” Granted, being able to play on practically any platform sounds like a great thing....

On the better translation front, Google is incorporating Neural Machine Translation into the Google Translate app. This improves translation accuracy by between 55% to 85%. Google says that translations will be better if your device is connected to the internet. But if that’s not an option, the feature can be used offline if you’ve downloaded the involved languages. Instant Camera Translation will now also be able to detect what language you’re trying to translate from on its own....

Leveraging on the company’s massive amount of datacenter clusters throughout the world, Google claimed that Stadia is able to deliver gaming experience at up to 60fps in 4K resolution with HDR support and surround sound. Powered by Linux-based servers that are equipped with custom GPU from AMD alongside an unnamed custom x86 server-class CPU, the company aimed to push further into the 8K realm and 120+ fps framerate in future....

In a blog post, CEO Sundar Pichai announced that Google will now have its data-collecting services store them for 18 months by default. That said, there are some major caveats to this. To start, this will only apply when you first turn on the tracking feature. This in turn means that it will mostly only apply to new accounts. Because for existing accounts, you’ve likely turned on Location History and Web & App Activity tracking on at some distant point in time....

Deputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Minister Rosol Wahid said the ministry no longer needs to set a ceiling or floor price, as manufacturers gave their commitment to the government that the self-test kit prices will be reduced by the end of October. Rosol claimed that the government initially planned to cap the price of the RTK-Ag kits to between RM13 and RM15, but decided against it after manufacturers promised to lower the price....

According to a report by Bernama, Environment and Water Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zaini Ujang said that the app enables users to track relevant data such as current river water levels and information regarding floods. This is gathered from hydrological telemetry stations located in 1,500 areas across the nation, which regularly updates the system every 15 minutes. Through the app, users can enable push notifications for announcements, weather updates, and flood forecasts if they wish....

According to Grab, the expansion for its GrabFood and other services “will further increase business and income opportunities for all across the country.” The company’s food delivery service also recently added 19 more cities and major townships to its areas of operation.
