The company earlier today has announced that it has activated 5G at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS) in Serdang as well as Ministry of Health Training Institute in Sungai Buloh. Both locations are currently being used as temporary COVID-19 quarantine centres. Based on the information provided by TM, the 5G implementation at both quarantine centres revolves around fixed wireless access. In its response to our follow up queries, the company noted that the activation of 5G in both areas which was done with assistance from Huawei, not only involved the deployment of base stations but also 50 units of 5G CPE wireless gateways....

At the time of writing, TM says that it has already restored Unifi service to half of the affected Unifi customers, while it is working as fast as it can to get service back to full service for the remaining customers. So, if you’re living in Bandar Sri Damansara and it just so happens you’re are one of the affected parties, hang tight and do be patient. This is a developing story…

As noted in our report yesterday, TM originally didn’t clarify where or how it manage to obtain the additional capacity. As it turns out, it was done by rerouting the traffic to an alternate international link which the company didn’t reveal the exact link in its announcement. However, in a separate statement released by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the alternate link turns out to be the Cahaya Malaysia (CM) which is TM’s first fully owned international submarine cable system....

Reuters also reported that another US$280 billion of licenses for goods and technology for Huawei haven’t been addressed, but are now likelier to face rejection too....

In addition to the current process, TSMC had also reportedly shared some details about the future beyond 3nm, something that the company is calling 3DFabric technology. According to Tom’s Hardware, the concept of 3DFabric focuses on advanced packaging technologies and as such, 3D packaging technologies were determined to be the next step after 3nm. To be clear, this wouldn’t be TSMC’s first foray into the development and manufacturing 3D packaging techniques; to date, the company has used technologies such as Chip-on-Wafer-on-Substrate (CoWoS), Integrated Fan Out (InFO-R), Chip on Wafer (COW), and Wafer-on-Wafer (WoW)....

A teardown by XDA Developer found strings in Twitter’s 9.27.0-beta.2 Android app that refers to the feature, which corroborates Paluzzi’s findings....

Prior to this, Twitter generally labels them as Retweets despite their differences. But now, the company has separated them apart with the latter being called Quote Retweet. Retweets with comments are now called Quote Tweets and they’ve joined the Tweet detail view. As implied by its name, the feature unlinks the user’s handle from a Twitter thread that they are tagged in, therefore cutting them off from newer replies as well as notifications, re-mentions, and so on. The platform says its introduction is intended to prevent users from receiving “unwanted attention” that could lead to harassment or spam.
