Following his controversial — frankly conservative — statement, it looked like his position as the CEO of FINAS was no longer safe. “Based on the at the current situation, it looks like Ahmad Idham will not be returning to FINAS next March. The reason provided is that he needs some time off to settle personal issues,” some sources claimed. At the time, FINAS hadn’t confirmed the news. However, in a statement yesterday, FINAS said that Ahmad Idham had requested for his contract which was due in 2021, to be shortened by one year — March 2020....

The two antitrust lawsuits were filed in the US by the Colorado Attorney General, Phil Weiser, but involves the states of Texas and Colorado. According to the recent blog update by Google, the test will include a new shopping bag icon in the bottom left of the screen, which will display a list of items featured in a creator’s video when clicked upon. Tapping on an item listed in the shopping bag will direct viewers to the product’s respective web page which will display more information, related videos and purchase options. Google says that the pilot programme will only run in the US region for now....

The “Long Screenshot” feature, as it is currently named was first spotted by Chrome Story under a new experimental flag for Google Chrome on Android. Based on the flag’s description, it briefly explains how the said feature will simultaneously enable Chrome UI to edit and share long screenshots on Android. However, there seems to be a minor catch with this update though. While users will be able to perform scrolling screenshots if and when the update has been officially released, do note that you will only be able to perform full screenshots within Chrome tabs....

The minister added that some suggestions and views are good and will be considered for a follow-up action. To recap, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) and the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) had started investigating several e-hailing companies for alleged price hikes. According to reports, e-hailing customers were seeing fares increase by up to 400% during peak hours. Calls were made for the government to regulate fares but after meeting with representatives from the industry, Transport Minister Wee Ka Siong explained that his ministry does not regulate e-hailing fares and that it was up to the firms to set the price in the free market....

What Grab Intercity essentially provides is the ability for its users to purchase bus and ferry tickets directly through the Grab app. In the announcement today, the company claimed that there are more than 15,000 routes available through the new feature at the moment. In addition to destinations all over Peninsular Malaysia, Intercity also covers direct routes to and from locations all over Singapore. To celebrate the launch, Grab is currently offering a 10% discount on all tickets purchased through the new Intercity until the end of this month....

This will save users the trouble of downloading and installing the corresponding e-hailing apps, while still allowing them to access Grab benefits such as collecting GrabRewards points when booking rides in Japan or the Middle East. Users will also be glad to know that the app will automatically translate in-app messages between driver and passenger to the default language that they’ve set. Grab also recommends its users to set up and adequately top-up its in-app eWallet service prior to their trip, in order to use its services while abroad....

The new service is part of the Indonesian government’s initiative to put two million EVs on its road by 2025. At current, GrabCar Elektrik comprises 50 Hyundai Ioniq, with plans for an additional 450 cars to be rolled out in the city before the end of the year.
