According to Nikkei, citing people familiar with the matter, Huawei has notified its suppliers that it plans to order enough components for 70-80 million smartphones this year. The company is reported to have shipped 189 million handsets in 2020, therefore the recent numbers suggest a decline in production of more than 60%. A number of unspecified suppliers are also predicting that the figure could be lowered to nearly 50 million units, the news agency added....

Confirmation of this new socket was seemingly confirmed by popular hardware leakster 188号 (@momomo_us), who posted a part of what appears to have come from an official Intel document. While just a cutout of the full page, the listing does show the words “LGA1700” at the bottom, suggesting Intel’s intentions of releasing its future 10nm CPUs with a completely new socket. On a side note and just to point it out, Alder Lake-S is a direct reference to the desktop processors, while Alder Lake-P is still shrouded in mystery....

In terms of performance, the alleged Extreme CPU garnered a score of 5339 for its single-core performance and a rather impressive 44046 points on the multi-core tests....

The good news is that, despite the seemingly insidious tone, the issue actually isn’t as bad as it sounds. As it stands, Intel says that it is already working with several DRM developers to create and distribute the relevant updates needed for games to run optimally on Alder Lake CPUs. The tentative VTL will connect the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore to the new Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal (DCFT) near Kota Tinggi, Johor. According to Hasni, the DCFT is already completed but not yet operational, so aspects of the plan will depend on the cooperation of the owner of the terminal, Khazanah Nasional. The DCFT was completed last month, and was built with international tourism in mind. The terminal plans to bring in passengers from Singapore and Indonesia via ferry, with ferry operators expecting to receive approval from the Marine Department of Malaysia (JLM) and Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) in two to three months....

The note also provided some new information regarding the AR headset’s hardware. From the images obtained by LetsGoDigital, Lenovo’s foldable phone is going to be really tall and narrow – think Sony’s Xperia 1, just maybe even taller. The idea here is that the phone folds vertically, but with the bottom half folding upwards like a reverse clamshell. Then there’s the “Scorpion Tail” hinge itself, which looks a lot like the hinges that you’ll find on Lenovo’s own Yoga laptops earlier in the decade....

Specs-wise, both the ThinkBook 14 and ThinkBook 15 shared near identical hardware, the obvious difference with their display sizes notwithstanding. Both notebooks can be fitted with up to the latest 10th generation Intel Core i7 CPU and up to 24GB DDR4 RAM. For storage, users have a choice of up to a 2TB HDD, an NVMe PCIe SSD of up to 1TB, or a combination of the two storage devices....
