Just in case you missed it, the new function allows users to convert a designated amount of storage space to be converted into additional RAM for your smartphone. An equivalent to the Dynamic RAM Expansion first debuted on the V21 smartphone by Vivo in April and then later introduced to several different devices by OPPO – both of which are brands operating under China’s BBK Group, which is also the parent company for realme. Much like the feature found on the Narzo 30 5G, realme 8 5G and 8 Pro users can access this new feature by heading to the device’s Settings menu, access the About Phone page, and then tapping the RAM category. From here, they can choose between different storage capacities to be converted into an equivalent amount of RAM. Users may also undo this process at any time they wish, which would also refund the storage space that was previously used to boost the phone’s RAM capacity.

According to realme, users will receive this update on the two realme 8 series smartphones via firmware version RMX3085_11.A.19. Alongside the new Dynamic RAM Expansion feature, the new firmware update also comes with several bug fixes, the July 2021 Android security patch integration, as well as various system performance and stability improvements. However, this rollout is currently made available only to a limited number of users in India. The company noted that a wider release to “all users” is expected to happen “very soon.” (Source: realme [Official website] via GSMARena)
