Via a statement on its own website, Rockstar said that it will continue to address the technical issues going forward. In the meantime the publisher will be reinstating the original versions of GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas back to the Rockstar launcher on PC. Which is nice, but it’s difficult to see this as anything but the publisher removing the bullet it shot into its own foot. Chances are the backlash to the buggy GTA Trilogy Remaster wouldn’t be so massive if it didn’t remove them in the first place. But on the flip side, Rockstar is giving those who bought the Trilogy Remaster the originals for free, so there’s that. That being said, these games are not yet back on the Rockstar online store. The publisher says that it will provide an update when that happens. That being said, the publisher mentions specifically its own store, so no word on Steam or the PlayStation Store on that front.
