The Buds2 Pro sports with new coaxial two-way speakers in each bud made up of a 10mm driver and a 5.3mm tweeter for a “richer” sound. Design-wise, the new buds are 15% smaller overall than the previous model, which Samsung says provides a better fit that prevents rotation, while also retaining the IPX7 water resistance. The highlight of the earbuds is sound quality, with the company driving in the earbuds’ support for 24-bit hi-fi sound with the new Samsung Seamless Codec and Bluetooth 5.3. They also come with “Intelligent Active Noise Cancellation”, which the brand claims to have improved by an impressive 40% compared to its predecessor. Aside from significantly upgraded ANC capabilities, the Buds2 Pro are equipped with 360 Audio, Samsung’s version of spatial audio, as well as Auto Switch, which automatically switches the connection from select Samsung TVs to your phone when your receive a call. The tech giant is also introducing a specialised conversation mode called Voice Detect that will automatically turn on the ambient mode whenever it detects that the wearer is speaking.
As for the battery life, the new earbuds can last up to five hours on a single charge with ANC enabled while using the case, which juices up via either USB-C or wireless charging, gives users a total playback time of 18 hours. Samsung claims that the buds can get an additional 55 minutes of power from just five minutes of charging.
