Evidence of this feature was first posted by serial leakster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce). Specifically, the feature would enable the Note 20 Ultra to alternate between 60Hz and 120Hz. Based on which app is opened or what content is being played at the time. Now, we should point out that there is a difference between having a display having an adaptive refresh rate and variable refresh rate. Having an adaptive refresh rate means that the display is capable of automatically switching between different refresh rates – in this case, it’s between 60Hz and 120Hz. Having a variable refresh rate means that the display runs between the minimum and maximum refresh rate, but has to be manually set.
