The problem seems to reside with the Galaxy S5e’s antenna residing at its upper-left corner. According to one user, holding that particular corner causes the Wi-Fi connectivity to bug out and completely lose any connection. To be clear, the issue only seems to be isolated to that particular corner of the Galaxy Tab S5e. In other words, holding the tablet in the landscape orientation will lead to the Wi-Fi issue rearing its ugly head. For now, using the tablet in its portrait orientation seems to be the only way to both avoid and evade the issue.
This isn’t the first time that an issue pertaining to a device’s Wi-Fi connectivity has ever cropped up. Back when Apple released the iPhone 4, the device suffered a similar issue with its antennas and mobile connections, with the mainstream media ultimately dubbing the incident as “Antennagate”.
It doesn’t look like this is an isolated case for the Galaxy S5e either. According to a report by SamMobile, the issue seems to affect all units across the board, so asking for a replacement unit still leaves consumers back at the starting point.
