Company regional managing director Ian Ho states in a press release that the e-commerce website will be working closely with their partners, retailers, and suppliers to ensure that there is sufficient supply to cater to the nation’s needs. Brands collaborating with Shopee’s effort include Mydin, Tesco, Nestle, Aeon Big, Freshtap.my and more. Ho adds that the company’s own online grocer Shopee Mart has stocked close to 10,000 types of products in preparation for the RMO. Furthermore, they will also be taking an additional measure by limiting the number of key and essential items that can be purchased by each user. This is to ensure that all Malaysians have fair access to their daily essentials.
Additionally, Shopee states that they will continue to provide next-day grocery delivery in Klang Valley and Southern Malaysia . This is applicable to orders made on Shopee Mart by 10am daily, excluding Sundays and public holidays. Other than that, the company also ensures that it is working closely with sellers and logistic partners to ensure that precautionary measures are taken for each delivery. This includes disinfection of warehouse and vehicles, parcel sanitisation, as well as temperature checks for workers, divers and riders. Lastly, Shopee adds that it will continue to provide free shipping nationwide in order to ease delivery costs during the RMO. However, orders that are placed with office delivery addresses will only be delivered after 1 April 2020, stated the company. (Source: Shopee media release.)
