According to its product page, the Xperia 1 III will retail for an eye-watering RM5799, making it significantly more expensive than its predecessor. To quickly recap on its specs, the phone sports a 6.5-inch 21:9, 4K HDR OLED display, with a 120Hz refresh rate. Beneath the hood, the phone runs is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC, 12GB RAM, along with a 4500mAh battery that also supports 30W fast-charging via USB-C. Oh, and it also supports Qi Wireless charging. Lastly, the phone has an internal storage capacity of 256GB, which is expandable up to 1TB via microSDXC. Camera-wise, the phone’s main camera is a quad-sensor setup, comprising a 12MP main, a 12MP ultra-wide, a new 12MP telephoto with Dual Pixel PDAF and OIS, and a 0.3MP TOF depth sensor. Around the front, the selfie camera has an 8MP sensor. As for the Xperia 5 III, the device is set to retail at RM4599. In terms of specs, the phone is nearly identical to the Xperia 1 III, the main differences being its slightly smaller 6.1-inch 21:9 display, 8GB RAM, and the lack of Qi Wireless Charging. As for the availability of the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III, Sony Malaysia has yet to set a release date and if you visit the respective pages of each device, you’ll see that the “Buy Now” button is greyed out and instead has the words “Available Soon” written inside.
