From the looks of the tweet, a new option will be added to the Settings page, which allows you to import music files to be played straight from the app. The interface looks like that of your regular file manager, so if you use those, it shouldn’t be too complicated to add more of your own music to the app.
— Jane Manchun Wong (@wongmjane) November 29, 2018 This feature is great for those who use Spotify primarily to discover new songs and artists, but have their own collection of obscure songs not found on the streaming service. The addition of this feature will also brings parity to both the desktop and Android versions of Spotify. That said, it’s difficult to imagine this feature coming to iOS. But, as with all experimental features, there’s no telling if and when they will make their way to the actual app. Here’s hoping that it will, so we won’t have to have multiple apps to listen to music on our phones.
