The discovery was made when one user saw Spotify’s new home screen widget in action. From the screenshots, we can see that the widget can be resized between small or medium size, with the latter showing four options in the “Listen to Music and Podcasts”. In addition, the smaller version includes separate sections, such as recently played artists, songs, and albums.
It is likely that Spotify is making an effort with this widget due to the surge in popularity of the feature on iOS, since its release back in September. Furthermore, this could also be the music streaming service’s way of getting its Apple-based users to take note of its dedicated widget.
