Well, it looks like we finally have some answers courtesy of the Star Wars #2 from Marvel Comics (via ComicBook.com). The comic picks up immediately where Empire Strikes Back left off. It’s revealed that someone — a hooded figure to be specific — caught the lightsaber as it was falling down. Lando tells Luke that he knows Cloud City in and out and can help Luke find his lightsaber. Then we see images of the lightsaber falling until it is caught by a hooded figure who says, “Skywalker, follow your destiny.” The comic series has not revealed who exactly the hooded figure is. We’ll have to wait for Star Wars #3 to find that out. However, there is a very good chance that the hooded figure is none other than Maz Kanata.
