To last until 12 August 2021, the list of the participating Shell Stations remains the same as per our report in May which includes Bandar Sri Menjalara, Mint Hotel, NKVE Damansara, Taman Connaught, and Taman Tun Dr Ismail. Naturally, users first need to activate the feature inside their TNG eWallet app before they can utilise it. This can be done by choosing the Shell icon which is located under the Transportation category. If the option is enabled for you, you can then set the default amount of petrol that you would like fill up for your TNG RFID-equipped car as well as BonusLink card number. At the participating Shell Stations, bays that support TNG RFID Fuelling will be marked by signages and users must make sure that their vehicle is facing the reader. These bays are also equipped with LED screens that would provide users regarding the status of the TNG RFID tag on their vehicle: Once the tag has been detected and the pump is ready, users have to start fuelling within 80 seconds. Else, the TNG RFID transaction would be cancelled and they have to drive out to another TNG RFID-supported bay if they still want to use the feature, or pay through cash and credit card if they want to remain at the same pump. It goes without saying that the petrol payment is being deducted from your TNG eWallet. At the moment, neither TNG and Shell have said anything regarding the wider rollout of this feature although if we have to guess, they definitely have to sort out the kinks that they may encounter at these five pilot Shell Stations during this 1-month trial phase, before they start to offer TNG RFID Fuelling at more locations.
