Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said in an earning calls that “when you come early on the next-generation of consoles, you can sell your games for a long time”. He also said that the games will make use of all the new features that come with the next-gen machines. These include better performance and download speeds, the former which some developers say is an underappreciated fact.

Both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Project Scarlett are slated to come late in 2020. The former boasts a feature that is best described as cross-generation multiplayer, allowing for crossplay with the PS4. While not explicitly mentioned, Project Scarlett’s support for four generations of content suggests that it may have simlar capabilities. As for the delayed games, they are Watch Dogs: Legion, Gods & Monsters, and Rainbow Six: Quarantine, alongside two more unannounced projects. These will be released in Ubisoft’s next financial year, which is between April 2020 and March 2021. (Source: Ubisoft via GamesRadar+. Image: Ubisoft / YouTube)
