In terms of hardware, both phones are practically identical, the only difference being the 4G and 5G connectivity. Beneath the hood, the IQOO Pro features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, up to 12GB RAM, and a maximum internal storage capacity of 256GB. The display is a 6.41-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED panel, complete with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Around the back, the main module houses a triple camera array comprising a main camera sporting a 48MP IMX582 sensor (courtesy of Sony), a 13MP ultrawide, and a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, the selfie camera utilises a single 12MP sensor, hidden in its teardrop notch.

The IQOO Pro packs a 4,500 mAh non-removable battery with 44W quick charging support. Software-wise, both versions will run on Android 9.0 with Vivo’s Monster UI. Further, phone also features touch-sensitive capacitive buttons designed for ergonomic controls during gaming. The 4G variant will come in two different specifications. The 8GB/128GB variant will cost at 3198 Yuan (~RM1891) while the 12GB/128GB will retail at 3498 Yuan (~RM2068). Meanwhile, the 5G variant offers up to three choices. The cheapest spec would be the 8GB/128GB at 3798 Yuan (~RM2245) and the 8GB/256GB variant will cost 3998 Yuan (~RM2364), while the top-end 12GB/128GB variant will set you back 4098 Yuan (~RM2423).

As the time of writing, Vivo has already begun taking pre-orders for the IQOO Pro, with the 4G variant slated for availability from 29 August onwards. While the 5G variant will be available from 2 September. For now, it looks like the phone will only be seeing circulation within China, and there is no further information on whether the Vivo IQOO Pro will arrive on our shores. Having said that, the probability of that scenario is highly unlikely, especially since Vivo has never brought its previous IQOO devices to Malaysia. (Source: Weibo via GSMArena)
