Arriving three months later than the original Mi 11, both the Pro and Ultra variants were completely absent from the smartphone’s initial launch in December last year. As expected, no details regarding either models were shared by the company. However, an earlier leak by YouTuber Tech Buff PH suggests that the Ultra model features the same Snapdragon 888 chipset and Harman Kardon-enhanced stereo speakers, as well as a larger 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
It is also revealed that on its back is a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP Samsung GN2 main sensor, dual 48MP sensors for its ultra-wide and telephoto cameras, and – a first for Xiaomi smartphones – a tiny secondary screen that is able to mirror whatever is shown on the phone’s front display. Sources believe that the Pro variant will feature the same cameras but lack the secondary screen.
Much like the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro and Ultra models, the company did not provide any information or hints regarding the new Mi Mix device as well. Although, it is believed that the new model could possibly be Xiaomi’s first ever foldable smartphone, as suggested by another recent leak. Shown in a series of photos are different angles of an alleged Xiaomi foldable phone’s shell, which also sports the company’s Mix branding. The device features an outwards folding design that is reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. On its back is a vertical camera array which houses three unspecified cameras.
Whether these leaks are accurate or not, we’ll only know for sure when the upcoming Xiaomi launch goes live on Monday next week. For those interested, the event will be streamed live via the company’s official social media channels on 29 March at 7:30pm local time. (Source: Xiaomi [1] [2] [3])
